Créée dans les années 1960, ce groupe en bois représente un soldat romain en armure et casque traditionnels, habilement capturé alors qu'il monte son cheval. Les détails finement travaillés, de la posture animée du soldat aux ornements sculptés à la main témoignent du haut niveau d'artisanat. Le personnage comme le cheval ont été sculptés dans un seul et même morceau de bois.

Created in the 1960s, this wooden group depicts a Roman soldier in traditional armour and helmet, skilfully captured as he mounts his horse.
