Mara Lucki est la fille du célèbre peintre et sculpteur d'origine polonaise Jean Lambert-Rucki.
En 1920, Jean Lambert-Rucki épouse Monique Bickel, elle-même élève du sculpteur Rodin. Après sa demi-sœur Léano, Théano dite Mara RUCKI nait le 7avril 1920. L'artiste grandit ainsi dans un milieu d'artistes admirant un père qui multiplie les expositions dès 1925 et jusqu’à la fin de sa vie. Il exécute de nombreuses commandes dans toute l’Europe (chantiers en Alsace, au Canada, en Belgique, aux USA …) et pour des églises (importantes rénovations après la Grande Guerre), participe à la grande manifestation d’Art Sacré ou collabore avec Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann et Jean Dunand lors de l’Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs de Paris en 1925.
A partir de 1930, il devient l’un des pionniers de l’Art Sacré Moderne.
Mara Lucki se nourrit de cette sensibilité paternelle qu'elle fait sienne et s'adonne avec bonheur à la peinture.
Ses oeuvres sont originales et fortes. Elle est, avec ses pinceaux, porteuse d’une sorte de lumière qui transparaît à travers ses tableaux, dont certains font penser à Jérôme Bosch.
Cette très belle œuvre, une huile sur toile des années 1970, figurant un bateau est intitulée « La Barque Bleue ».

Mara Lucki is the daughter of the famous Polish-born painter and sculptor Jean Lambert-Rucki.
In 1920, Jean Lambert-Rucki married Monique Bickel, herself a pupil of the sculptor Rodin. After her half-sister Léano, Théano dite Mara RUCKI was born on 7 April 1920. The artist grew up in a milieu of artists, admiring a father who had numerous exhibitions from 1925 until the end of his life. He carried out numerous commissions throughout Europe (building sites in Alsace, Canada, Belgium, the USA, etc.) and for churches (major renovations after the Great War), taking part in the great Sacred Art exhibition and collaborating with Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann and Jean Dunand at the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 1925.
From 1930 onwards, he became one of the pioneers of Modern Sacred Art.
Mara Lucki drew on her father's sensitivity and made it her own, happily devoting herself to painting.
Her works are original and powerful. With her brushes, she conveys a kind of light that shines through her paintings, some of which are reminiscent of Jérôme Bosch.
This very fine work, an oil on canvas from the 1970s, depicting a boat, is entitled ‘La Barque Bleue’ (The Blue Boat).
The artist's signature is visible in the top left-hand corner of the composition.
