Superbe tableau de Philippe VISSON, peintre né en 1942 à New-York (Etats-Unis) et mort en 2008 à Montreux (Suisse). Entre un père célèbre journaliste au Washington Post et une mère historienne de l’Art qui fut rédactrice pendant trente ans à la Gazette des Beaux-Arts, Philippe VISSON se consacre totalement à la peinture très jeune et expose pour la première fois à New-York à l’âge de seize ans. La reconnaissance est très rapide et les expositions s’enchaînent notamment à Monte Carlo et à Genève.
Son style si particulier fait de grands aplats et de couleurs contrastées plaît aux amateurs d’Art et les commandes sont de plus en plus nombreuses. Dans le même temps, les expositions continuent à Washington, New-York et Paris.
Cette très belle œuvre, une huile sur panneau d’isorel datée 1997 et signée en bas à droite , figure une vue de voiliers. Elle est contresignée au dos et titrée «Passage de voiliers».

A superb painting by Philippe VISSON, a painter born in 1942 in New York (USA) and who died in 2008 in Montreux (Switzerland). With a father who was a famous journalist with the Washington Post and a mother who was an art historian and editor of the Gazette des Beaux-Arts for thirty years, Philippe VISSON devoted himself entirely to painting at a very young age, exhibiting his work for the first time in New York at the age of sixteen. Recognition came very quickly and exhibitions followed, notably in Monte Carlo and Geneva.
His distinctive style of large flat tints and contrasting colours appealed to art lovers, and more and more commissions were received. At the same time, exhibitions continued in Washington, New York and Paris.
This very fine work, an oil on isorel panel dated 1997 and signed lower right, depicts a view of sailing boats. It is countersigned on the back and titled ‘Passage de voiliers’.
