GUÉGUÉNIAT (Gérard), peintre et sculpteur breton né en 1934 et mort en 2019 (Éc. Fr.).

Ancien professeur d’arts plastiques à Quimper, il expose pour la première fois à Camaret dans la galerie Morvan. Puis il s’est fait connaître à l’étranger en présentant ses œuvres au Japon, aux États-Unis et en Grande Bretagne. Il s’installa durant de nombreuses années à Kersiguénou (Finistère). Refusant d’être associé à un courant artistique, Gérard Guéguéniat était aussi à l’aise dans les représentations figuratives que dans l’art abstrait.


Ce très joli tableau, une huile sur panneau des années 1960-1970, figurant une composition abstraite est le reflet de son art.

Dimensions : Hauteur 14,2 cm. Largeur 14,2 cm (20,8 cm x 20,8 cm avec le cadre). Signature de l'artiste au dos de l'oeuvre.

Former plastic arts teacher in Quimper, he exhibited for the first time in Camaret in the Morvan gallery. Then he became known abroad by presenting his works in Japan, the United States and Great Britain. He settled for many years in Kersiguénou (Finistère). Refusing to be associated with an artistic current, Gérard Guéguéniat was as comfortable in figurative representations as in abstract art.
