Vietnam, début du XXème siècle, superbe, et importante statue en bois laqué et doré figurant un moine en position debout et les mains jointes au niveau de la poitrine. Le personnage est digne. La sérénité de son visage témoigne de l’état méditatif dans lequel il se trouve.


Cette statue est de très belle qualité, tant par la maîtrise de la sculpture que par le travail du laque.

Dorure de couleur cuivrée caractéristique des productions anciennes.


Dimensions peu communes. Hauteur 71,5 cm.

Le témoin d’échelle sur la dernière photographie est une bouteille d’une contenance de un litre. Poids : 7,620 kg.

Bon état de conservation par rapport à l’ancienneté si ce n’est des usures normales sur la dorure et une fissure du bois visible sur le poignet droit mais ne résultant pas d’un choc.

Vietnam, beginning of the 20th century, superb and important statue in lacquered and gilded wood depicting a monk in a standing position with his hands joined at chest level. The character is worthy. The serenity of his face testifies to the meditative state in which he finds himself.

This statue is of very good quality, both by the mastery of the sculpture and by the work of the lacquer.

Copper-colored gilding characteristic of older productions.


Uncommon dimensions. Height 71.5cm.

The scale indicator on the last photograph is a bottle with a capacity of one liter. Weight: 7.620 kg.

Good state of conservation compared to the seniority except for normal wear on the gilding and a crack in the wood visible on the right wrist but not resulting from a shock.
