Tibet, années 1920/1930, superbe et très importante statue de Bouddha, en bronze à double patine, représenté assis sur un double socle lotiforme, dans la position de la prise de la terre à témoin (Bhûmisparsha-Mudrà). Une croix swastika est apparente sur la poitrine, symbole d'harmonie deux fois millénaire à la représentation des opposés entre la lumière et les ténèbres. La fonte comme la qualité de la sculpture confèrent au sujet une très belle esthétique et un sentiment d’intense sérénité. La belle patine et les dimensions généreuses et rares pour un Bouddha tibétain réhaussent sa beauté.


Peu commune également, cette frise de sutras en bas-relief sur tout le pourtour de la base. Hauteur 58,5 cm. Largeur 42,3 cm. Le témoin d’échelle sur la dernière photographie est une bouteille d’eau d’une contenance de 150 cl.

Tibet, 1920s/1930s, superb and very important statue of Buddha, in bronze with double patina, represented seated on a double lotiform base, in the position of taking the earth as a witness (Bhûmisparsha-Mudrà). A swastika cross is apparent on the chest, a symbol of harmony two thousand years old representing the opposites between light and darkness. The cast iron, like the quality of the sculpture, gives the subject a very beautiful aesthetic and a feeling of intense serenity. The beautiful patina and the generous and rare dimensions for a Tibetan Buddha enhance its beauty.


Uncommon also, this frieze of sutras in bas-relief all around the base. Height 58.5cm. Width 42.3cm. The scale indicator on the last photograph is a bottle of water with a capacity of 150 cl.
