FAURE (Michel), artiste peintre né rue de Seine à Paris en 1928 et mort à La Boissandière (Anjou) en 2009.
Diplômé de l’École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs en 1947, il attire rapidement l’attention du monde de l’Art par son talent associé à l’abstraction lyrique. De 1954 à 1967, il s’installe en Alsace et devient le directeur artistique de la manufacture de tissus imprimés tout en poursuivant son œuvre peinte et les multiples expositions personnelles et collectives qui remportent un franc succès. A ces occasions il côtoie notamment Hans Hartung, François Heaulmé et Olivier Debré. En 1967, à Paris, il crée l’atelier Michel FAURE dédié aux dessins pour tissus à destination de l’industrie textile et de la mode qui connaît un succès retentissant. Il a alors pour partenaires Yves Saint Laurent, Kenzo, Ted Lapidus et Cacharel. Il travaille pour Knoll International France et expose dans leurs locaux de Paris en 1972. D’autres expositions à la Galerie Scala et la Galerie Flottante de Paris, au Palais de la Malmaison à Cannes, à la Barclays Bank à New-York lui firent connaître la renommée.
De nombreuses collections particulières de renom possèdent ses œuvres.
Cette superbe et très grande composition abstraite, une huile sur toile signée au dos et datée 1969 est le reflet de son talent. Elle provient du fond d’atelier de l’artiste. Michel FAURE l’avait conservée jusqu’à sa mort.

A graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in 1947, he quickly attracted the attention of the art world with his talent associated with lyrical abstraction.
