République Démocratique du Congo, peuple Léga, période coloniale belge, années 1950, très joli masque de la société secrète du Bwami en bois partiellement recouvert de kaolin présentant une belle patine naturelle.
Il identifie son détenteur comme un membre d’un certain rang au sein de cette société secrète. Il n’a pas pour but de donner une autre identité et n’est donc jamais porté sur le visage; ce qui explique l’absence de patine interne. Ce masque est de grande qualité par son élégance, la pureté des lignes, l’intensité intemporelle de ce visage en forme de cœur.
Bon état si ce n’est de légères usures normales et sans incidence.
