Très joli coupe riz du XIXème siècle provenant de Thaïlande ou de Birmanie figurant un serpent dressé.
L’extrémité du manche est richement sculptée. Un tel ustensile était effectivement réalisé pour servir dans les rizières mais son esthétique très élaborée en faisait surtout un objet cérémoniel appartenant à un notable.

Restauration d'usage au niveau du col, normale pour une pièce de cette ancienneté ayant servi, mais qui ne nuit nullement à la belle esthétique de l'ensemble.

Very pretty 19th century rice cutter from Thailand or Burma representing an upright snake.
The end of the handle is richly carved. Such a utensil was actually made to be used in rice fields but its very sophisticated aesthetic made it especially a ceremonial object belonging to a notable.
