AMBILLE (Paul), peintre et lithographe né en 1930 à Béziers (Hérault) et décédé en 2010 à Arette (Pyrénées-Atlantiques).
S’inscrit très tôt à l’Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Paris où il fréquente les ateliers de Jean Dupas et de Edouard Goerg. En 1955, il obtient le grand Prix de Rome et séjourne dans la Villa Médicis durant quatre années. Il est nommé peintre de la Marine en 1993 et élu Président de la Fondation Taylor en 1995 jusqu’en 2007. Paul AMBILLE fut exposé dans de prestigieuses galeries tant à Paris qu’au Japon, en Suisse, aux Etats-Unis, en Angleterre et aux Pays-Bas. Certaines de ses œuvres sont conservées dans des musées français et étrangers comme le Metropolitan Muséum of Art de New-York. On dit de sa peinture qu’elle appréhende les sujets comme vus au travers d’un voile ou apparaissant dans un rêve. Cette superbe œuvre, une huile sur toile, figurant une jeune fille jouant du violon titrée «La crémone» et datée de 1982 en est une belle illustration.

Signature en bas et date "82". Signature également au dos de la toile avec mention du titre.

Joined very early on at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris where he attended the workshops of Jean Dupas and Edouard Goerg. In 1955, he won the Grand Prix de Rome and stayed in Villa Medici for four years. He was appointed Naval Painter in 1993 and elected President of the Taylor Foundation in 1995 until 2007. Paul AMBILLE was exhibited in prestigious galleries both in Paris and Japan, Switzerland, the United States, England and in the Nederlands. Some of his works are preserved in French and foreign museums such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. It is said of her painting that she apprehends subjects as seen through a veil or appearing in a dream. This superb work, an oil on canvas, featuring a young girl playing the violin titled "La cremona" and dated 1982 is a good illustration.
Good condition. Some cracks without incidence.
Signature at the bottom and date "82". Signature also on the back of the canvas with mention of the title.
